IT'S FOR THE DOGS

The 3rd Annual Doodle Island Retreat, November 7-12, 2017

Join us on the barefoot chic private island, Kamalame Cay, located just off the east coast of Andros Island, Bahamas.

Bring the whole family – dogs (and kids!) are welcome. The first retreat was a blast - don't miss this year's event!

DOODLE FUN

We’ve put together an exciting five-night Doodle getaway and hope you’ll join the fun. Enjoy the laid-back island atmosphere and let your dog do the same. Dogs are free to swim in the ocean, chase lizards, run around the island and just be dogs. You can fish, snorkel, get a spa treatment, eat well, and stick your toes in the sand. Hang out with other Goldendoodle families and let the doodles have a ball.

DOODLE FREEDOM

Imagine being able to just let your dog run free on an island oasis. Maybe take a long morning walk with your doodle on the beautiful three-mile long beach, or explore the northern tip of Kamalame Cay and collect conch shells while your pup fetches coconuts.

PRIVATE ISLAND HIDEAWAY

Kamalame Cay is a true island retreat that offers three miles of deserted white sand beach, 96-acres of swaying palms and flowering tropical foliage, private beach villas, no televisions, the Bahamas first and only over-the-water spa, and golf carts or bicycles to traverse the sand-packed road (there's only one!). Check out Kamalame's website for details about the beautiful island and this amazing resort.

IT'S YOUR TIME

Whispering the promise of laidback hospitality to captivated first-time visitors and longtime guests, this treasured private island retreat charms with a singular blend of luxurious accommodations, deserted beaches and the kind of gracious warmth and hospitality that can only be achieved through a labor of love that spans decades. From world-class bone fishing flats and the world’s third largest barrier reef to peerless sunsets, miles of private beach and fresh and imaginative cuisine, this graceful, off-the-grid glamorous private island hideaway is a favorite among beachcombers, barefoot wanderers and many a happy bone fisherman.

How To Get There

PAPERWORK
FOR YOUR PUP

Just a couple of forms, and your pup will be all set to travel to The Bahamas.

STEP 1

PLANNING

In order to travel to the Bahamas with a dog, allow a minimum of six weeks to apply for your dog's import permit. You will also need to plan for at least two visits to your veterinarian, one of which needs to be more than a month before you plan to travel, and the second needs to be within 48 hours of your travel to the Bahamas.

STEP 2

PERMIT APPLICATION

Every dog imported to the Bahamas must have a valid import permit. The dog must be more than six months old at the time it will be brought into the country from either the US or Canada. We will provide you with the necessary import permit application and help submit it for approval. You will need to provide the breed and age of the dog, the purpose for bringing the dog to the Bahamas, and the dates the dog will arrive and depart from the Bahamas.

STEP 3

HEALTH CERTIFICATES, VACCINATIONS, THEN GO!

For each dog over the age of six months arriving from the United States or Canada, you will be required to have a veterinary health certificate. It must be issued within 48 hours of embarking for your travel to the Bahamas. You must also have proof of current rabies vaccination. You can have either the one-year or the three-year rabies vaccination. The one-year vaccination must have been issued less than 10 months ago, yet more than one month ago. The three-month vaccination must have been issued between one month and 34 months ago.
